대통령님의 취임으로 미합중국 국민에게는 더욱 커다란 희망과 행복이, 나라에는 더욱 큰 발전과 번영이 있기를 기원하며, 또한 귀하의 리더십으로 지구촌의 진정한 평화와 정의가 다시 살아나기를 기원합니다. 그리고 67년간의 맹방 관계를 자랑하는 한미동맹 관계는 더욱 결속되고 한반도 평화와 동북아시아의 안정도 확고해지기를 소망합니다.
본인은 한미우호협회의 전 회원을 대표하여 귀하의 취임을 축하드림을 큰 영광으로 생각합니다. 한미우호협회는 “세계질서 안에서 한미우호 관계의 중요성을 재인식하고, 한미 간 상호이해와 협력 증진을 도모한다.”는 비전을 가지고 한미우호 증진과 동맹 강화를 위하여 활동하고 있는 한국 내 비영리, 비당파성 민간 단체로서 30년의 역사를 가지고 있습니다. 회장직을 맡고 있는 본인은 대한민국의 육군 중장으로 예편 후에 3선 국회의원을 지낸 경력을 가지고 있습니다.
2015년 2월, 본인은 대한민국 국회 국방위원장 자격으로 독일의 뮌헨 안보회의(Munchen Security Conference)에 참석한 바가 있는데, 대통령께서 당시 미국 부통령자격으로 그 회의에 참석하셔서 ‘우크라이나 사태와 미국 입장’이라는 제목의 키노트 연설하시는 것을 현장에서 듣고 당시에 대통령님께서 보여주셨던 세계질서 속에서 미국의 확고한 리더십과 결기를 확인하고 큰 감명을 받은 바가 있었습니다.
본인은 현재 이곳 대한민국 서울에 주재하고 있는 해리 해리스 대사와 긴밀한 협력을 하면서 활동을 하고 있음을 대단히 기쁘고 영광스럽게 생각합니다. 그는 한국을 지극히 사랑하고 한반도 안정과 평화를 위하여 철통같은 한미동맹 관계를 더욱 확고히 발전시키겠다는 신념에 찬 분입니다. 본인은 또한 대한민국 수호와 평화유지를 위해 오늘 밤에 싸울 수 있다면서 불철주야 노력하고 있는 주한미군 사령관 겸 한미연합사령관 로버트 에이브람스 장군과 함께 돈독한 우정, 그리고 혈맹의 전우애를 바탕으로 함께 일하고 있음에 큰 보람과 자부심을 느끼고 있습니다. 그는 뛰어난 군인이며 대한민국을 수호하겠다는 굳은 결기에 차 있습니다. 그와 함께 우리가 매일 외치는 구호는 “우리 같이 갑시다!”입니다.

Congratulations to President Joseph Biden!
Dear Mr. President,
Congratulations on your inauguration as the 46th President of the United States. With your inauguration, I wish the people of the United States could have greater hope and happiness and the country achieve even more development and prosperity, and also wish your leadership could certainly bring back real peace and justice in the global community. And I hope that the 67-year-old, our proud alliance between Korea and the U.S. could become even more solid and the peace on the Korean Peninsula and stability in Northeast Asia be firmly established.
On behalf of all members of the Korea America Friendship Society, I am honored to congratulate you on your inauguration. The Korea America Friendship Society of the Republic of Korea is a non-profit, supra-partial, non-government organization that has a 30-year history and working to promote Korea-U.S. friendship and strengthen the alliance with the vision of " With the Recognition of the significance and importance of the Korea-America friendly relationship, we devote to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the United States. I, the President of the organization, am a retired politician, with three terms of national assemblyman after retirement as a Lieutenant General of the Army in the Republic of Korea.
In February 2015, I had a chance to participate in the Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany in the capacity of the Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Korea National Assembly, and had a once opportunity to meet you and listen to your impressive keynote speech at the conference on “ The conflict over Ukraine and European Security ”, as vice-president of the United States, and I was very impressed by the firm leadership and determination of the U.S. in the world order you showed me at the time.
I am very pleased and honored to be working closely with Ambassador Harry Harris here in Seoul, Korea. He loves Korea very much and is a man full of faith in tightening an iron-clad alliance between two countries for the sake of stability and peace on the Korean Peninsula. I am also very proud of and enjoy working with General Robert Abrams, Commander of the U.S. Forces Korea and Combined Forces Command, who works day and night to keep 'Fight Tonight' Spirit to defend and keep everlasting peace of the Republic of Korea, based on strong friendship and brotherhood of blood pledged alliance. He is an extraordinary warrior and is determined to defend the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea. With him, the slogan we shout every day is "Let's go together!"

Once again, we sincerely congratulate you on your inauguration and look forward to seeing you in Korea or the United States someday soon.
